Bringing Your Unique Talents to the Red Cross

We realize that volunteers have a wide range of choices as to where and how they spend their volunteer time. We are glad you are considering the American Red Cross.

We also realize that meeting your goals starts with a compatible placement, one that satisfies your expectations. The successful matching of volunteer interests, skills, and expectations with Red Cross needs is crucial to both the program's success and your satisfaction in your new volunteer career. The American Red Cross recognizes that each individual brings unique talents.

In order to protect the integrity of the Red Cross mission, volunteers either loaned or working in cooperation with the Red Cross that wear Red Cross identification must have undergone and cleared background checks that meet or exceed the Red Cross minimum standards, i.e., a verification of the social security number and a search of the National Criminal File for the past 7 years.
